Every Zap has a Trigger phase and an Action phase. It's important to understand what each one does.
Below, we've compiled a list of common Zapier terms that you'll see as you're creating your own Zaps. For a more comprehensive guide, check out this article: Zapier: Getting Started Guide
A Trigger is the event in an app that starts the Zap. Once you set up a Zap, Zapier will monitor the app for that event. Let's use the 'Add new Details event to Google Calendar' Zap as example. The trigger in this case is an event being created in Details.
The Action is the event that completes the Zap. Using the same example Zap as above, the action would be when your event is added to the Google Calendar.
- Zaps can only have one Trigger, but multiple Actions.
- Testing a Trigger is ineffective without an Action phase.
